When I was a kid in west Texas every few years the city would be inundated with really large grasshoppers. It's actually one of the things that I miss now that I no longer live there. The crazy insect infestations, the sunsets, the thunderstorms in the summer time, hornytoads, there are so many things that I took for granted that I really miss now.
That lazy guy who refused to pack food for himself before winter. The ant was apparently smarter.
A starving grasshopper trudged through a blizzard and beseeched an ant for food that the latter had stored for the winter.
The ant asked, 'Why did you not store food for the winter, instead of singing and dancing all the while?'
'I did,' replied the grasshopper, 'But you bastards broke in and carried it all away.'
