We said “good bye” to New York, where we had enjoyed three exciting days. I would have given a fortune to stay. Therefore, I told my husband how much I would love living in this fascinating modern metropolis, if possible in a condominium facing Central Park. He answered , that the only condo we could afford was a modest dwelling like a Beijing Hutong. However, I kept on dreaming. I imagined us admiring the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, attending the First Night of a theater performance, spending days with the treasures of Guggenheim Museum; in short I talked about everything we had missed for the one or other reason. He reminded me, that we had to leave in a few hours and added: “We`ll have been at home for more than three months by the time the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is lighted.”
I sighed, stopped dreaming and we made for the airport.
