Liquorice, like most good things is an acquired taste. Apart from its unusual taste and texture it apparently has medicinal values. I can't remember my first taste or even what shape it was presented in or even that I even liked it. But as an adult I have a favourite spot in my heart for liquorice. I prefer the hard liquorice sticks but sometimes I like the original liquorice root which I reckon is even better than a toothbrush for giving your teeth and gums a good work out. But I'm afraid the good it does is undone when it comes to Bassets liquource allsorts. I become a pig and can't put them down until I have consummed the lot and feel Bloody awful for having done so. |
