Seeing is of course very much a matter of verbalization. Unless I call my attention to what passes before my eyes, I simply won´t see it. If Tinker Mountain erupted, I´d be likely to notice. I was just reading about a study of 5-10 year-old children who were shown a blindfolded doll and then asked, Is this doll hard to see or easy to see? Most of the 5-year-olds and many of the 6- and 7-year-olds said the doll was hard to see, because she had a blindfold over her eyes.
