You may not know it, but you have in fact seen many, many Ampelmännchen. You may see them all the time and not know it when you do. They don't always look the same, but Ampelmännchen they are, and they're always out, rain or shine. Type »Ampelmännchen« into a search engine and see!
The Ampelmännchen used to be cool and curious, but marketing has made them dull.
